Walking Alongside Families With Dignity, Accountability & Hope
Hope Centre exists to support vulnerable families within the Klopperpark and surrounding communities through relationship-driven care, mentorship, counselling and practical assistance.
Over the years, Hope Centre has facilitated a variety of outreach initiatives and community programs. Following the challenges brought about by COVID-19, our focus shifted toward deeper, more intentional family support — walking closely with individuals and families through difficult seasons while helping them move toward long-term stability and independence.
Today, Hope Centre primarily serves families connected to both Cornerstone Church and Pebbles Klopperpark Nursery School.
Our approach is centred around:

Empowerment rather than dependency ┃ Practical assistance while families work toward sustainability
We believe that meaningful and lasting support happens through genuine relationship, careful stewardship, and walking consistently alongside people — not simply through short-term handouts.
A STRUCTURED & INTENTIONAL SUPPORT SYSTEM
Assistance through Hope Centre is carefully monitored and implemented through one-on-one relationship and accountability structures.
Before any aid is provided, clear processes, expectations and support plans are put in place with each beneficiary family. This allows us to ensure that assistance is genuinely beneficial, responsibly managed, and focused on helping families move forward sustainably.
Support may include:
Assistance with preparing CVs and documentation ┃ Guidance toward employment opportunities ┃ Counselling and mentorship
Referrals to additional services and organisations ┃ Grocery assistance through monitored food voucher systems
Rather than creating dependency, our goal is to help families bridge difficult seasons while equipping and empowering them toward long-term self-sufficiency.
GROCERY SUPPORT & FINANCIAL SPONSORSHIP
Hope Centre provides practical food support to selected families through grocery vouchers for stores such as Shoprite and Checkers.
This system allows families to purchase the groceries they specifically need while ensuring responsible oversight and stewardship of donated funds.
Because of the structured nature of our support programs, we primarily focus on financial sponsorship rather than large-scale donations in kind.
Financial contributions assist us in:
Supporting families with grocery vouchers ┃ Providing counselling and mentorship support
Assisting families as they work toward stability and employment ┃ Maintaining sustainable, accountable community care systems
CLOTHING, SHOES & BLANKET DONATIONS
We do, however, gratefully accept donations of good-quality clothing, shoes and blankets.
These items are used in two intentional ways within the community:
Direct distribution to families facing genuine need ┃ Community jumble sales, where affordable clothing is made accessible to local families while funds raised are used to assist with grocery support initiatives
This system allows donated items to continue serving the community with dignity while also helping us sustainably support families in need.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP
Hope Centre is supported by a network of dedicated volunteers, church leadership, and community partnerships.
A local social worker volunteers her time, skills and resources to assist families with counselling, guidance and access to additional support where necessary. Together with the wider Cornerstone Church community, Hope Centre seeks to serve families with wisdom, dignity and genuine care.
